With a membership of c40 companies, we already have a network ready and willing to share their expertise with you.
We have around 6 meetings a year where we discuss the latest developments in HR and Employment Law. The meetings are usually held at Lumley Castle, Chester le Street
If you need answers to questions such as does anyone have a procedure for operating annualised hours? Is anyone willing to share their training/succession planning policies? What shift premium do you pay on continental shifts? Within a couple of hours of emailing questions like these you will normally have a number of responses.
It is also useful to make contacts and share intelligence as to who has vacancies, who is moving etc.
How We Operate
We are and have always been a very informal group with few rules and procedures. Administration is kept to a minimum and we do our best to simply be a source of help to all members and to create a situation in which members can seek advice, test ideas and know what is happening in general in the region. We are in no way exclusive, although we do not advertise the network, relying simply on word of mouth and now the website andTwitter to generate new members.
The network does have a committee that oversees how the network runs, with a Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer, supported by a small committee.
Topics are generated by either the committee or member company representatives.. We do rely on our members being active and participative – the more you give the more you get back!
What are the Costs?
We keep the cost as low as possible and it is currently only £150 per year which allows one person to attend each of the meetings. Extra guests are very welcome and are charged the basic rate for breakfast. Companies can have multiple annual memberships, should they want more than one person to come along.
The majority of meetings start at 8-8.30am and finish about 10.15am, allowing you to go straight to the meeting and not go into work first. Breakfast is provided and an informal atmosphere to create the right setting for the topic. We have a variety of speakers from leading organisations who are happy to share their knowledge with us.
